IT’S BAAAACK! That’s right on August 28th, along with the Independence Brew-B-Q and Brew Tasting; there will be a bike ride too. A portion of the proceeds from the ride will be donated to (CHARITY TO BE ANNOUNCED). The start and finish will be from the Riverwalk Parks at 5th Street and Corinne NE. For those who wish to come in Friday afternoon/evening there is plenty of room for tents and buses just south of the park area, down around the Rotary Shelter, someone can show you. The ride will start at 9 AM and go to 2 PM offering up a 25 mile ride through the easy rolling landscape of northwest Buchanan County and is supported by the Sag-wagon. A 50 mile ride is also available for the truly hearty biker, but returning to the park before 3 PM would be a very good idea. The 25 route is exactly the same as the annual R.A.S.H. Ride, www.rashride.org, held each June. Early registration is $20 and must be postmarked by August 20 or personally presented to a Brew-B-Q Committee member by August 27. Registering early will get you into the Brew Tasting which begins at 3 PM, an opportunity to sample a significant number of beers, a Brew-B-Q commemorative tasting glass and you save five bucks! Registration the day of the event will be $25 and that will net you the Brew Tasting and Brew-B-Q commemorative glass it’s just that it costs you an extra five bucks. T-shirts maybe ordered with your registration and will be on sale also. Registration or check-in will start at 7 AM. Persons under 21 years of age may register for the Ride. Along with these great events, the barbecue, the beer, you’ll enjoy free live music in the afternoon. Bob Dorr and the Blue Band is returning as our headliner band, because they just like coming. They’ll be on stage from about 5 PM until close. There will be vendors offering up some very fine BBQ, other excellent foods and cold beverages. Entry into the Brew-B-Q at Riverwalk Parks is FREE Please be aware that no coolers, no alcohol, or pets are permitted within the Brew-B-Q fenced in area. Also, no alcohol is permitted outside the fenced area. |
